Michigan Avenue in 1959

The Corner of Wabash Avenue and Lake Street in 1967

Looking south on Wabash Avenue in 1967 -- another great photo from the National Geographic's Found blog. Don Roth's Blackhawk Restaurant, located at 139 North Wabash, can be seen on the left. If you're wondering about the menu, the New York Public Library has a scan of the 1964 version. Cocktails started at 75 cents and the prime rib was $4.25.
